Bradley turned 7 yesterday !!!

Prezzie ready and waiting ...


.. and the 'Granny's Speciality' birthday cake .. with a difference .. I hear you say !! Yep .. not the customary Smarties as Smarties have gone 'green/organic/healthy' and contain no artificial colouring which makes 'Granny Speciality' cakes rather dull! So I tried jelly beans instead ... and added a touch of sparkle !



Bradley couldn't wait to open his prezzie .. still dressed in his karate suit .. with Connor eager .. very eager .. to help with the ribbon ..




... much to Connor's disgust he decided to open the card first ... yay .. he can read ... !!!

He wrote me a list of 'Mr Men' books - to add to his collection of Mr Men books - which has been stuck on the fridge since Christmas .. so he was thrilled that I remembered !! ...

"Yay .. new Lego .." I am amazed at Lego, how they keep up with trends .. Spiderman, Ben 10 etc as well as this one ... under the sea Atlantis .. with the usual 'goodies and badies' and odd looking vehicles with arms that do all sorts of crazy things !

Erin came to play but she went with Granny to play at Bradley and Connor's house. After swimming - 'cos it's been soooo hot lately - they had a picnic and she was 'mommy' .. pouring the 'tea' ..

.. yummy ... it must have tasted good ....

I wished Robbie and I were there too, 'cos they all played with balls ... our favourite toys ...

... they were throwing and catching ...

... and while the boys were playing with their Daddy ...

.. Erin was throwing ....

The Big Bad Wolf ... and the three little piggies

Grrrr! 'Little pig, little pig, let me come in .....'

Bradley getting into character for his school concert which was based on the Disney stories. Their class performed The Three Little Pigs and Bradley was one of three wolves ... all the other littlies were the little piggies - pink ones and black ones with cute little noses!


I went along with Lance, Jeanette and Connor to watch last evening. Love the excitement in the classroom when the littlies are having their make-up on ..
...reminds me of the days of Elaine's ballet concerts with all the little ballet girls crowded into rooms crammed with costumes hanging from every hook and door knob, tying of endless ribbons on shoes, hair gelled into tight buns ......



My photos are not half as nice as Jeanette's - she had all the 'bells and whistles' for her camera and I only had my little pocket Lumix - we had enough to carry without my larger camera as well. Just shows you what a good quality camera can do!!!!

Aren't they just so cute .... three little piggies with a big bad wolf!

Photos also taken without the flash ... as Jeanette did ... but look at mine!! Zoom and colours are not good .. wished I had taken my other camera but it was a little difficult with Connor not sitting still for one minute ...

... he loved it!! Here he is singing along with the songs ... then he climbed from one chair to the next, copying all the actions ...

I wasn't fast enough to get photos of him dancing on the chairs.

Look ... it's Winnie the Pooh ... and Tigger too !! He loved it ... that was his favourite bit!

Birthday Party Boy !!

Connor's 2nd birthday party was yesterday.

Mommy and Daddy's garden was filled with clothed children and then costume-clad children ... adults ... toys .... trodden on sweets and cake ... and then it was time for THE CAKE. What a cake !! It had a 'pane on it ... a big red 2 ... and 2 candles ! Our beautiful grandson has turned 2!! Two years ago he was attached to a wall of tubes and machines in NICU ... and look at him now ..

Connor's actual birthday was today - 16th - so there was more fun. Cookies, a special birthday crown and friends at school this morning .... and then I made him a 'Granny's special' birthday cake for this afternoon. Poor little sausage had a temperature and did not want any birthday fuss .... until Papa came home .. and then Mommy came ... so we could finally light his candles and open his prezzie from us .......
